Educational Psychologist | Systems Thinker | Talent Developer | Advocate for Change

Dr. Leticia Hernández de Hahn—known to colleagues and students as Lety—has spent her career examining the deeper purpose of talent development. With a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and certifications in Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Policy from Harvard Extension School, Lety brings a rare interdisciplinary lens to gifted education.

Her academic path has taken her from bilingual classrooms in the U.S. and Mexico to faculty roles in Germany and Austria, and consulting partnerships across Europe, North and South America. She has worked with the National Center for Research on Gifted Education, taught at Niagara University, and helped design a groundbreaking international master’s program in gifted/talented education.

But what drives Lety isn’t just academic rigor—it’s a deep moral clarity.

“Gifted education must evolve. We cannot develop talent in isolation from the problems that urgently need solving.”

From sustainability education and carbon accounting to student empowerment and systemic reform, her work is grounded in integrity, accountability, collaboration, and service. These values aren’t just words—they’re the compass that guides her through complex professional and personal challenges, including moments of injustice she’s had to confront and rise above.

Lety is particularly proud of the many students she’s mentored into meaningful careers—leaders who carry forward her values of excellence and service. She continues to support gifted youth globally, especially those struggling to find their place in the world.

Whether she’s speaking at a conference, advising a student in crisis, or helping a school board reimagine equity, Dr. Hahn remains committed to one thing:

Making talent matter where it matters most.
